Interactive Internet Television for Watching Sports 

ABSTRACT:

The Time Warp Sports (TWS) platform gives fans an interactive experience for watching sports on television. TWS utilizes a sport definition format and video annotations to enable instantaneous play-by-play navigation, switching between multiple camera angles, and on-demand statistics. These interactive controls allow fans to easily replay plays which they are interested in from a number of camera angles. The sport definition format allows for cross sport usage so TWS supports a large number of sports.

TWS was tested with 19 different groups of people, by connecting a computer running TWS to a standard TV and provided a wireless video game controller to control the experience. Based on the evaluations, TWS provides an easy to learn interactive system for watching sports. It provides a successful cross sport platform for an interactive sports watching experience.
