Description
The Consultant/Software Engineer will work with a consulting team to provide custom software solutions built on leading edge technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with a small and agile team of software engineers to implement custom software applications
- Assist in developing design specifications and code using a variety of technologies
- Tune implementations to meet customer success metrics
- Perform product configurations and code release testing
- Keep abreast of relevant products and technologies
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Solid server-oriented knowledge of the Windows and Linux operating systems and utilities
- Able to adapt and learn new systems quickly
- Self-driven, able to work alone as well as within a team environment
- Good communication skills
- Working knowledge of C++, C#, and Java
- Working kowledge of Visual Studio and Eclipse
- Python, PERL, and other scripting languages desired
- Understanding of software architecture, object oriented development, and performance tuning
- Experience with large scale distributed computing desired
- Experience with professional software development, including implementing customer solutions, ideally in an enterprise software or professional services environment
- Experience with or knowledge of enterprise search engine concepts and practices is highly desirable
- General web development experience using HTML, XML, XSLT, CSS, JavaScript, etc. as well as web application experience using ASP.NET, J2EE, PHP, etc. desired
- Relational database and SQL knowledge/experience using MSSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or other RDBMS
Education
- Students and those with applicable work experience will certainly be considered
- B.S. or work towards a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field desired
