Web Programmer

International Students:
No
Application Deadline:
1 Aug 2008
Job Description:

Position: Web Programmer

Description: Create and maintain code for a web-based application. Generate beautiful and efficient code while exploring new ways to make the components of the application work together in a way that will be intuitive and natural to the end user.

Useful skills/knowledge:
JavaScript
JSON
Prototype JavaScript framework and Scriptaculous
PHP
XHTML/CSS
SQL (MySQL)
Subversion (SVN)

Requirements: Previous programming experience is a must. The site is written in PHP and JavaScript. A working knowledge of JavaScript is critical, and experience with the Prototype framework is a huge plus. Also, we store all of our code in an SVN repository, so an understanding of version control systems is also important.

The project is of a revolutionary nature. The code is not structured in a way most web programmers will be familiar with. In keeping with this spirit of the project, we need coders that will constantly seek for ways to make the code more innovative, efficient, and readable. The applicant must be willing to adapt their coding styles to meet current practices, but also be proactive in looking for better ways to get things done. However, this quest for innovation can't come at the cost of usability for the end user.

The ability to keep to a timeline and meet deadlines is extremely important.

Feel free to contace Eric at for more details.
