Position: Web Server Administrator
Description: Setup and maintenance of the various components of a LAMP server.
Useful skills/knowledge:
Linux
Apache
WebDAV
ProFTPd, Vsftpd, or equivalent

Subversion (SVN)
Qmail, Exim or equivalent
Requirements: The administrator must be familiar with the UNIX or Linux operating system. Our servers are running CentOS, so a working knowledge of a Red Hat based distribution is best.
The main responsibilities will involve making sure that the server is running as stable as possible, and that resources are allocated properly in order to keep the website running. This means that the administrator will need to be familiar with memory management, cron jobs, and directory structures as well as the optimization of the Apache and MySQL servers. An understanding of an MTA such as qmail or Exim, or even sendmail, would also be beneficial.
The applicant must be willing to work in an “on call†relationship with us to resolve any problems that arise in order to avoid downtime.
The ability to keep to a time line and meet deadlines is extremely important.
