JOB SUMMARY:
This part-time position is responsible for assisting the Project Manager with programming responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Creates and expands existing web-based applications currently in use at the District.
2. Finalizes application design from templates/concepts provided by Project Manager.
3. Designs new applications to meet the needs of District staff.
4. Communicates new skills, tools, concepts to supervisor and other team members; collaborates with team members in an open and supportive environment.
5. Plans, researches, develops logic, code, tests and deploys Web projects with minimal assistance.
6. Adheres to good development practices (i.e., documentation, code standards, design, and maintainability).
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to work a part-time schedule 20-30 hours per week per District needs.
Ability to work at the District (between 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.)
Ability to be professional in appearance.
Ability to demonstrate skills/knowledge in web application development using District programming standards.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work with C# in a Visual Studio environment (2005), object-oriented programming ©#), PHP (build, decipher, and modify), Web services, ASP.net, IIS, and Apache, AJAX, MySQL (database design, optimization, and query), JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and XML (without the use of WYSIWYG editors).
Ability to exercise strong analytical and debugging skills; ability to be organized and detail-oriented, to work with professional engineers.
