The purpose of the Mobile Computing Lab is to develop, research, and promote wireless computing. MCL is focused on enabling Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPAN) by improving the underlying technologies. We do this by: analyzing co-location of heterogeneous WPAN technologies, developing methods of interoperability between WPAN technologies, and enhancing current WPAN protocols. Many WPAN technologies use RF as a communication medium. As these technologies propagate difficulties in co-location are going to arise. We propose a framework for modeling the effects of co-location of such technologies. We develop methods to combine multiple WPAN technologies into a cohesive synergistic solution. As WPAN technologies mature, we suggest ways to enhance performance and improve robustness of these technologies.
