Abstract Submissions Deadline Extended for Family History Technology Workshop!!

The deadline for the abstract submissions for the Family History Technology Workshop has been extended until February 8, 2006.
This year at the Sixth Annual Family History Technology Workshop there will be two cash awards given by, Inc. to the top two student papers. An award of $500 will be given to the top Undergraduate and Graduate paper admitted to the conference. Abstracts should be submitted by February 8, 2006, and should be about 1-2 pages.

Resume Seminar and Career Fairs

In preparation for the upcoming General and Technical Career Fairs, the CS department will host a seminar on the perfect resume and interview presented by Darrel Whitney of Lawrence Livermore National Labs. The seminar will be on Tuesday, January 31st, 2005 from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. in room 3380 of the Wilkinson Center. Students are also invited to bring their resume for Mr. Whitney to critique in the time remaining after his presentation. Donuts will be provided.

Fall 2006 Graduate Progam Applications Due Wednesday, February 15

Planning on going to Graduate School?

Graduate application materials are due February 15 for Fall 2006 admissions into the Computer Science Department.

Please be sure to have ALL application materials to the Office of Graduate Studies (B-356 ASB) by February 15, 2006 to be considered for admission.

Technical Career Fair Coming Up

The Technical Career Fair hosted by the Engineering Department and the Department of Physical and Mathematical Sciences will be on Wednesday, February 22nd from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. in rooms 3220-3224 of the Wilkinson Center. Students are encouraged to bring their resumes and meet with company representatives.

Companies in attendance include:, CIA, Intel, Lawrence Livermore Labs, Lockheed Martin, Micron, Microsoft, MIT Lincoln Labs
National Instruments, NAVAIR, Omniture, Pixar Animation, Rincon Research, and Wingate Web.
