Role Description
Jen’s role spans three areas: leading the department’s belonging work, directing its advising team, and guiding graduate students. Whatever’s on your mind — academic or personal — please reach out, and she’ll work through it with you.
Belonging
As CS Director of Belonging, Jen leads the department’s belonging work and is a trusted place to turn for students, faculty, and staff who need support or resources.
Advising Team Leadership
She also leads the CS advising team, guiding the advisors who help students thrive.
Graduate Advising
For graduate students, she walks alongside the whole journey, from admission to graduation. She can help with things like:
- Admissions — applying, the admissions process, and getting started
- Finding the right fit — connecting with labs, research groups, and faculty advisors
- Program milestones — proposals, qualifying exams, and defenses
- Coursework and requirements — planning classes and progress toward your degree
- Working with your faculty advisor — navigating the student–advisor relationship
- Graduation — final requirements and graduation clearance
