Duane K. Dougal graduated from BYU with a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and Linguistics, later earned a Master's Degree in Computer Science, and has worked in the software industry for many years, including notable companies such as Novell, Unisys, Enron, Ariba, Boeing, and Microsoft. From 2014 to 2022, he worked at Church headquarters and managed the computer systems used for Church translation. He is a computational linguist and NLP practitioner, has written and published many technical manuals and articles, and holds a personal patent in a computer vision technology. He is also an avid scuba diver and rescue diver and has logged more than 200 hours of underwater time.
He and his wife, Jodi, have four sons and a yellow labrador retriever, Everett. They love to garden, travel, and spend time with family.
