Hyrum Wright is a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Google, where he leads the Code Health Team. His team is responsible for the maintainability of Google's source code, ensuring the scalable evolution of billions of lines of code. He has spent the last decade improving techniques for maintenance of large-scale software systems, and sharing those lessons inside and outside of Google.
Hyrum is one of the editors of Software Engineering at Google, and a visiting lecturer at Carnegie Mellon University. He holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Brigham Young University, and M.Eng. and PhD in Software Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Hyrum and his wife live with their five children in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
